Enhancing the Appeal: Modern CIP Cleaning Methods for Beer Equipment and Fermentation Tanks

About CIP

CIP is the cleaning-in-place machine (CIP station) used for effectively cleaning and sanitizing the inner surfaces of vessels and piping in brewery systems that come into contact with media and food products. Without this device, any beverage production line cannot be operated due to the risk of bacterial contamination.

Cleaning-in-place (CIP) is a method of cleaning the interior surfaces of pipes, beer production vessels, process equipment, filters, and associated fittings without disassembly.

We produce practical equipment for the cleaning and sanitation of brewing, fermentation, and storage vessels for beverages, as well as pipeline routes, to keep them in a clean and sterile condition.

Description of the cleaning-sanitizing cycle

The cleaning-sanitizing cycle usually consists of the following steps:

Pre-rinsing – rinsing the production equipment using cold or hot water.

Cleaning – cleaning the production equipment using circulated hot water.

Rinsing – thoroughly rinsing the production equipment using cold or hot water.

Chemical disinfection (sanitation) – washing the technology using alkaline and then acid sanitizing solutions at the desired concentration.

Rinsing – thoroughly rinsing the production equipment using cold or hot water.

Neutralization – performed after completing several cleaning and sanitizing cycles, which involves mixing alkaline and acid sanitizing solutions to achieve a neutral pH of the solution before discharging it to the drain.

Brewery CIP system

The mobile CIP stations usually contain the following parts:

Tank with alkaline sanitizing solution – all types

Tank with acid sanitizing solution – only CIP stations with 2xT and 3xT architecture

Tank with hot water – only CIP stations with 3xT architecture

Neutralizing tank – for neutralizing both sanitizing solutions after contamination before draining – all types

Heating chamber – for heating water and sanitation solutions to the required temperatures

Circulation pump – for pumping the sanitizing solutions through sanitized vessels and piping routes

Electric switch cabinet – a box containing all electric elements, regulators, and power switches

Control panel – provides status indication, temperature display, and controls all functions of the CIP station

Support stainless steel frame – equipped with four or six traveling wheels and brakes
