Essential Equipment for Starting Your Own Brewery

Opening a Brewery: Equipment and Brewing Process

Opening a brewery is the dream of many brewers. However, entering the brewing industry as a novice can be quite challenging due to its complexity and global competition. In this article, the engineers of ACE Craft will guide you on what equipment is needed and how to choose cost-effective craft beer equipment.

Brewery Beer Production Equipment

Raw Material Storage Equipment: This includes malt and rice storage silos, conveying pipe bridges, air dust collectors, temperature and humidity monitoring and control equipment, ventilation equipment, weighing and measuring equipment, etc.

Raw Material Preparation Equipment: This includes malt and rice conveyors, centrifugal dust collectors, vibrating screens, malt and rice pulverizers, storage bins, automatic metering electronic scales, etc.

Beer Fermentation Equipment: This includes fermentation tanks, fermentation temperature control equipment, yeast culture expansion tanks, washing and sterilization equipment, hot water alkaline water preparation equipment, etc.

Beer Filtration Equipment: This includes yeast centrifugal separators, filter cotton diatomite filters, rotary fine filters, biofilm filters, beer turbidity meters, deoxygenated water preparation equipment, high concentration dilution devices, etc.

Beer Storage and Distribution Equipment: This includes sake storage tanks, temperature control equipment, capacity measurement devices, distribution wine pumps, and automatic control and metering devices.

Composition of Beer Brewing System

Crushing System: Malt Crusher

Saccharification System: Mash pot, passage tank, rotary sedimentation tank, plate heat exchanger, wort feed pump, saccharification combined pipeline, wort thermometer, temperature measurement and oxygenation combination, measuring cylinder, sugar content meter, outlet bad handle and fork, internal exhaust barrel.

Fermentation System: Fermentation tank, wort hose, low-temperature refrigerant pipeline, stainless steel butterfly valve, mobile cleaning pump, automatic pressure relief system, pressure gauge.

Cooling System: Refrigeration unit, alcohol ice water tank, insulation pipeline, pipeline circulating pump, butterfly doors.

Issues to be Aware of When Brewing Beer

Crushed Malt Detail: To ensure the integrity of wheat bran, it is recommended to pour a small amount of cold water on the malt and let it soften before crushing. Avoid using a grinder with a knife edge as it may crumble the bran.

Temperature Control During Saccharification: Temperature control is crucial during the saccharification process. The crushed malt should be poured into the mashing tank and the temperature controlled at 66-68 degrees Celsius.

Wort Boiled with Hops: Hops contribute to the bitterness and clarity of beer. When boiling the wort, adding hops can help separate proteins, clarify the wort, and enhance bitterness. However, if the malt is too cloudy, it may affect the bitterness and flavor.

When to Add Yeast: Yeast plays a vital role in the fermentation process. It should be added to the cooled wort (below 30 degrees) and stirred with a centrifugal pump. Yeast loses its activity at higher temperatures, which can affect the flavor of the beer.
