How to Purchase a Distillation Equipment

We understand the intimidation of purchasing a still and distillation equipment, especially for newcomers. That’s why our main focus is on providing premium customer service and helping you find the perfect still for all your distillation needs.

We have heard numerous stories from customers who have been disappointed with the quality of stills or distillation equipment bought from popular online shopping websites. When purchasing directly from overseas manufacturers, lack of follow-up and poor customer service are common issues. However, at ACE, we take care of all the import paperwork and deliver high-quality China copper stills right to your door. We provide updates on the location and status of your still during shipping, and we are available to assist with any questions about assembly and maintenance after you receive your order. We encourage all our customers to stay in touch and share their experiences on our TESTIMONIALS page. When you buy a still from ACE, you’re not just making a purchase…you’re starting a relationship.

When comparing our stills to similar products on the market, the difference in quality becomes evident. Our stills are made with premium raw copper materials and crafted with exceptional precision.

Which still is right for me?

We offer copper stills with capacities ranging from 1.5 liters (0.4 gallons) to 200 liters (53 gallons). We also produce industrial models with capacities up to 2000 liters (530 gallons). However, if you’re considering one of the larger models, it’s likely that you wouldn’t be reading this.

So, you’ve decided to join the craft distillation movement and purchase a still from ACE, but you’re unsure about the size that suits you best. With the options and corresponding differences in price, it can be a dilemma. We’ll provide some guidelines here to help you make the right decision.

Hobby Models

Our Hobby Model Stills are available in 1.5 liters (0.4 gallons), 10 liters (2.6 gallons), and 30 liters (8 gallons). These models are ideal for novice distillers with little or no experience. The 1.5 and 10-liter models can even serve as decorative pieces in a man cave, bar, or restaurant. However, they are also fully functional. In capable hands, all our stills operate flawlessly, regardless of size.

Who might be interested in the Super Mini 1.5-liter still? The cost of quality equipment can be a deterrent for many people looking to enter the home distillation movement. If you’re unsure about your commitment to the hobby but want to give it a try, the Super Mini is a great way to start and familiarize yourself with the process without breaking the bank. It’s also popular among customers who have excess wine and want to distill it into brandy. The desired outcome can be achieved without a significant initial investment.

Everything mentioned about the Super Mini 1.5-liter still applies to the 10-liter Hobby Model as well. The only difference is the size and production capacity. The 10-liter model also has the advantage of being able to be heated on a gas stove in the kitchen. Our 30-liter Hobby Model is slightly different. It can come with a furnace that accepts solid fuel (e.g., wood or charcoal) or a gas burner as a heat source. Keep in mind that the 10-liter model can only be heated with a gas burner, and the Super Mini can even use a candle! The 30-liter model with a gas burner-compatible furnace can ONLY be heated with a gas burner. All our stills with a solid fuel furnace of 30 liters or larger can be heated with either solid fuel or gas, but those with a gas furnace are restricted to gas heating.

Tipper Models

Our Tipper Model Stills are available in 60 liters (16 gallons), 80 liters (21 gallons), and 100 liters (26.5 gallons). The 60-liter still has been our most popular model to date. Customers find that it strikes the right balance of price and scale. It’s perfect for upgrading from a smaller or lower-quality still or as an entry-level option for those serious about the hobby. It’s small enough for urban environments yet large enough for distilling larger quantities in fewer batches. Homesteaders and off-gridders on a budget, who have extra second or third-class fruit after making jams and preserves, find the 60-liter still ideal. It can be used with or without a mixer and can be heated with solid fuel or a gas burner.

The 80 and 100-liter Tipper Models are similar to the 60-liter model, just scaled up in size. Whether you’re distilling water, alcohol, or fuel alcohol, the 80 and 100-liter models allow for higher production in less time. For hobby distillers, the difference may not be significant, and the additional expense may not be worth it. However, for those short on time due to other farm or homestead responsibilities, one of these larger models may be a worthwhile investment.

Stable Models

Our Stable Model Pot Stills are available in 120 liters (32 gallons), 160 liters (42 gallons), and 200 liters (53 gallons) capacities. These are serious pieces of distillation equipment not recommended for novice or entry-level distillers. They are designed for experienced distillers with a certain level of expertise. All Stable Model stills come with a built-in standard mixer, as well as fill and discharge ports for quick emptying and filling between batches. If you’re an experienced distiller in search of a high-quality still and have a large quantity of material to distill, a larger Stable Model is the best option. Farmers, homesteaders, and off-gridders with excess second and third-class fruit find these larger models popular. Any fruit farmer or orchard owner with distillation experience and over 100 trees should consider one of these larger Stable Models.

We also offer a 350-liter (92.5 gallons) Industrial Stable Model Still. This is our largest production model still. It is suitable for small-scale craft micro-distillery businesses. It comes complete with an electric motor attached to the mixer for continuous mixing of the mash inside the still. It includes every necessary accessory for larger-scale production and ease of use, such as a hydrometer, saccharometer, proofing parrot, copper mash funnel, and a 20-liter (5.3 gallons) copper cauldron to catch the distillate. This is a comprehensive setup, but it’s not for novice or inexperienced distillers!

Industrial Distillery Models

Our Industrial Distillery Models are custom-made to order and can range in size from 120 liters (32 gallons) column stills to 2000 liters (528 gallons) column stills. They are fully customizable to meet the specific needs of micro and large-scale distilleries looking to distribute their product to the public. These stills feature clean systems that can be cleaned without disassembly and can be heated with a 3-phase electrical heating system. The purchase of two or more of these stills includes on-site assembly by a specialist team. For further information on Industrial Distillery Model Stills, please contact us.
