For the steam-heated beer fermentation system, the heavy-duty steam boiler is an essential component of the brewery equipment. As we all know, steam boilers are high-pressure vessels. How can we maintain the steam boiler to help us brew better beer?
The boiler water must be softened water that meets the standard. Before servicing the steam boiler, the power must be turned off, and the pressure in the steam boiler must be released.
The water must be drained daily to ensure that the water in the steam boiler is clean.
Check the operational status of key components such as power transmission line, water pump, control panel, pressure switch box, safety valve, etc. If a problem is found, the cause should be identified and fixed promptly.
The boiler needs to be internally cleaned every six months or once a year to ensure its working efficiency and lifespan.
The water level gauge must always be kept clean and cleaned once daily to ensure that the water level is clearly visible.
Rotate the safety valve handle once a day to prevent rusting.
When the boiler stops running for a long period of time, the power supply should be disconnected. The water in the boiler and pipes should be drained to prevent freezing and corrosion.
Regularly tighten the connecting screw on the heating pipe and the nut on the flange.
Perform regular inspections of the steam boiler equipment by listening, smelling, observing, and touching. If any issues are noticed, immediately turn off the power and carry out repairs.
The heating tube is prone to scaling in the steam boiler, especially when the water is hard. The screws on the flange should be tightened regularly to prevent water leakage.
When the boiler is not in use, please disconnect the power, open the control panel, and inspect all electrical components, such as circuit breakers, contactors, etc. Tighten loose parts.
The electrical control panel should not come into contact with water, steam, flammable, and explosive gases. When the boiler is running, close the door of the electrical control panel.
The crystalline coarse salt with a purity of at least 99.5% should be added to the demineralized brine tank. The use of fine salt is strictly prohibited. Crystalline coarse salt accelerates.
The water temperature for the softening equipment is 5 to 45 degrees Celsius, and the water pressure is 0.15 to 0.6 MPa.
